DSPICs and BLDC Motors

Hi,
Does anyone have any experience or knowhow with DsPICs and Bladeless DC motors?
I have a few including the 4011 and I want to start controlling a 24V bldc motor shortly. I dont want to have to buy their development board for bldc, but rather, make for mine straight.
Got anything useful I might wanna check out???
I really dont want to buy there motor control development boards, but rather to make one myself, which seems like the logical sollution...
