Do we allow to use toroid cores in parallel?

They use parallel toroidal cores ! Is this correct?
Do we have a datasheet about toroidal cores size and watts ?
 
Yes, you can use parallel toroidal cores with a common winding. I (we) don't have that information on size and watts, but a Google search should come up with some typical values.
 
Hi,

The disadvantage is that the wire length increases for the same core area. For a square cross sectional core the wire length for a given number of turns is smaller than for a rectangular cross sectional core. The difference is about 6 percent more for two cores, but goes up to 20 percent for four cores (the cores stacked one on top of the other as shown in your diagram).

The advantage is that you may not have the right size core laying around and may not want to have to order the right core with a square cross section. Since the wire length goes up by 6 percent with two cores stacked, that means the wire resistance also goes up by 6 percent which may or may not hurt the application.

The other advantage is that if there was any unwanted electrical conduction inside the core material it will be reduced. It's only one gap though so might not make much difference at all. Usually cores with this problem have many 'sub' cores stacked one on top of the other so as to introduce more electrical resistance along the stack of the core. So the gap is a good thing as long as it is cemented or varnished to prevent vibration (in the final application).

Another slight advantage is that the angle of the helix is reduced by some amount which reduces the electrical current that could possibly flow along the stack of the core. This might be minimal however.

Data for cores is best found on manufacturers web sites. The old Magnetics Inc. had much data on their site that is downloadable. They changed their name i think but should still be reachable.
