Hi friends ..

Messed up with some solution

Project to detect software is running okay in computer, - i.e. detects when the computer or software hangs

>output from computer software - pulse - 5V on and off

> When pulse is not coming to electronic device the relay pulls in

> there is a delay for the relay to pulls in- (2mins) - this is bcos when we first switch on the device and computer need to boot up and software needs to start

Main purpose is to see whether the software is working fine , by producing a oscillating wave?

when the waves stops, relay pulls in. ( since we placing a delay , its okay after that delay)

Google "missing pulse detector. It's based on a 555 timer circuit. Then add a time delay circuit.

This is nothing like what you posted in this thread. You are looking for a script (or related software solution) that tells you if a process is running on a local machine (computer). Since you don't mention a network or remote computer I assume Local Machine.

OK, so you have a computer that is running a process, how do you plan to monitor what processes are running? You will need a little chunk of software. Once you know if your process is or is not running you need a way to output that data from the local machine be it parallel port, RS232 Serial or USB. Considering Parallel Port and RS232 are about dead that leaves USB.

This is nothing like a missing pulse detector. Do you have any program writing skills? Because that is what is needed for openers. It can be done relatively easily with the correct software to query the operating system and the right hardware to read from a computer output port.
