dc to dual dc converter

Is there an easy way to convert 24 volts dc into +/- 16 volts dc (split supply)
Draw would be about 250 mA.

Yes it's possible.

What's it for?

A virtual earth circuit is fairly simple but it would only provide a +/-12V supply which might be enough.

A buck regulator can be used to get +16V from 12V and a buck-boost to get -16V from 24VDC.
