dc to ac converters

can anybody tell me how do dc- to ac converters work??? what came to mmy mind was to use oscilators but then i am am confused that how it would work.


can anybody tell me.

You are correct, they use oscillators.

They use an oscillator, transformer & transistors. Try searching for Power Inverters.

Some inverters use a modified sine output, which is a step approximation. Still others use 2 oscillators, one at high frequency on the initial stage used to boost voltage, while keeping magnetics small, and a secondary 60Hz oscillator on the final stage for the output section. It all depends.

Depends on what........

And secondly, the thing that is confusing me is how would the ground be establised in this case??

Why do you want a ground?, and if you do - then simply connect one of the output wires to ground.
