dc motor control through switches!

i using the circuit shown to control the dc motor in both directions. but i need suggestions whether it is good or any better circuit is there to do the same function with single or double control pins?

is this possible to control the direction by H bridge ? i using a single dc motor...
 
Yes, an H-bridge gives bi-directional control from a single polarity voltage source.

Even easier, and working in exactly the same way, is a DPDT relay (which is what an H-bridge simulates).
