You need to specify how the 5mA is being generated and what the 30mA is driving into. Voltages? What accuracy required?

the supply is comming from a 250mA transformer but the 5mA is from a portion of my circuit. and i need to turn my 5mA to 30mA to drive my VCO.
it is a 5V supply.. can i use a 2n2222 transistor.?

what do you mean by a soruce??
my is source is a 5V, 250mA power supply.. the current coming from it is 200mA but after passing through a circuit network, it has drop down to 5mA. now i need to amplify it because my VCO needs at least 28mA and at most 35mA, it also runs at 5V!!..
