Hi Nigel,
I knew this was going to be a difficult one, but I'm sure that's no
"in house" number because there's no commercial equivalent.
I remember picking one up in a second-hand shop in Holland, I bought it
because I knew what it was. A few months later a friend asked me for such
a device, because he was having difficulties obtaining one. So I gave him
mine and I told him that I would order another one for him as a spare,
which I remember doing. Years later I found a bag with five new P8002's.
So there must have been a second order, probably from Ambit.
Meanwhile I've been digging in some old magazines and I found an article
about an amateur UHF TV transmitter using P8000's in it's output stages.
A P8000 in a TO126 package is not a P8002 in a TO202 package, but it
very well could be essentially the same transistor.
Thanks for your reply.
