In what way is it being used in the existing circuit? The datasheet lists it as a complementary transistor, are you not replacing it's mate?

Dear Sceadwian,

It is used as a driver transistor for a 1KVA Mosfet(Irf3415) based power card of a sine wave UPS system. I had checked its datasheet its 'Ic' is 10amps & peak collector current is 20 amps Pd is 50watts,

i cross checked BD912 whose Ic is 15 amps and Pd is 90watts, Vebo is 5Volt for both the transistors,

but i am confused on hfe of both the transistors,
