Hi everyone, I have just signed up to this forum and I was looking for a bit of help with a little project I have at the moment.

I am trying to build myself a custom active DI box. My background is Physics but I have not really had any electronic engineering experience. I am going to get myself a breadboard kit so I can experiment.

I am looking to have a standard XLR input splitting the signal into a XLR and 3.5mm jack output with volume control. Sound quality is not integral but size is.

I have looked at a few schematics and was a bit confused. This one looks to be in the right direction **broken link removed** but has 2 XLR outputs. I also noticed this one on the forum https://www.electro-tech-online.com/attachments/p35-f2-gif.27534/ and I think its closer to what I am looking to make.

So my questions are:
1. Am I looking at the right sort of schematics
2. Where is the best place to get components?

Any help would be really appreciated

Cheers

Owen
