:D I am doing a project of using software to control a switched reluctance motor. The requirement of the project is to limit the current to certain stage (8A peak current). Do you have any idea of how the circuit will look like?is it just using the resistors to limit the current? Searching for HELPS!!

To limit the current the easiest way is like you say to use a resistor in series with the power source and the load. The value can be determined with ohms law.
If you want to limit the current and when the current reaches the peak value (8A) do some other function, there are ways to do that.

I am not sure what a reluctance motor is. Is it a single phase AC motor that uses a capacitor to start, or run it?

If you give use some more info perhaps we can suggest a solution for you.
