crystal ossicilators

is it possible to shine a laser on to a crystal and see the vibration on the wall, how else could I get a high frequency oscillation to bend a laser light (0.5 - 14mhz)
 
Vibration on a crystal is a piezo electromechanical reaction. Most RF crystal are not that reflective and they don't physically flex that much. They will also be effected by exposure to atmosphere. There are some crystals packaged in a glass cover. You might try hitting one of these at glancing angle with a laser while crystal is running an oscillator.

... or maybe try Dilithium crystals......... ;)

Most crystals, other than watch crystals, are AT cut, that operate in thickness-shear mode.

If you get an overtone glass packaged crystal, the quartz is polished so the silver electrode has a mirror finish. However, the glass package is optically poor, and there will be next to no change in the reflection because the crystal moves in the wrong direction.
