I though I'd point out a neat tool that might help out people who are just getting started on microcontrollers.
Its called "PSoC Express". It works with Cypress' PSoC microcontrollers CY8C27 series and CY8C29 series (www.digikey.com sells them). It lets you do LED flashing, Ato D, PWM, Fan control and other simple I/O stuff using a graphical interface. You can also build simple I2C slaves. There is no programming involved. It also has a handy simulator to test the design. You can get it free from Cypress' website. www.cypress.com
