hey i was wondering if there is a way to convert a LCD from a Portable DVD player into a lcd for a games system? the DVD player i have is a novartis if anyone knows any help would be great.
The question has been asked many times.
It is almost always impractical to reuse these displays. Not only do they lack datasheets, the driver circuitry is often located in the control board. It is too difficult to meet the driving requirements (often AC) or even the RAM space for a frame buffer.
Depends Oznog, for simplicity and cheapness there may be a simple NTSC/PAL video signal being sent from the DVD decoder to the LCD display controller module. It sure isn't going to hurt to open the thing up and scope a few pins to see if you can find a composite video signal.
