Convert 5v to 12v

ok so i got the tip120 and wired it the same way and it did not work. what am i doing wrong? i wired it exactly as described in the diagram. someone help please

TIP120 has a different pinout.

With the epoxi encapsulation turned to you, it's B-C-E.

It will work just wire it up right look at back of the box the pin out is not the same as the 2n4401 The tip 120 is base collector emitter make sure you don't ground the base to any thing
