computer based robot

hey all...

i'm making a robot witch "brain" is a computers motherboard. witch is the best one to use. needed are lpt port, com port and monitor and ceyboard holes.

and what should i use for the power supply

Via makes a couple x86 motherboards that are designed for embedded systems. An Intel P4 takes something like 90W to run. The Via board claims to run at 5-7W depending on clock speed. It might be worth looking at Single Board Computers. You can buy a 300MHz x86 board for a ~$300 with CPU. If you keep the power requirements low you shouldn't have any trouble finding an off the shelf switching supply to run the board.
