Component Identification

I am attempting to repair a Professional Video/Graphics Processor. Can anyone identify the thang attached to the capacitor? Looks like a ceramic chip cap? The large cap (680uF 35V 105 degrees C) is one of (4) grouped together of which (2) are missing & need to be replaced along with the thangs. The manufacturer does not release propriatary info or schematics. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It most probably is because the low voltage of this cap, but sometimes manufacturers add large resistors across caps to safely discharge them over time. If its a SMD cap, it's likely to be ceramic and of around 100nF, it's probably a bypass for higher frequencies.

disconnect it , and use the multimeter to identify it as a cap or resistor

its a cap, more then likely a 100nF fast decoupling.

if it was a resistor it will have 3/4 numbers on one side and would not be orange/brown in colour (a colour-code for SMD-caps)

It common practice to HANG on parts even in production to make things work as designed. To me it looks like this is the case it idi not work and they added a component to make work. ot could be anything unfortunatelly.
