Compilers/IDEs for 16 bit PICs?

I'm looking at getting into the 24/30/33 series PICs. I currently use SourceBoost C and a melabs U2 programmer for 12/16/18F chips.

What is the cheapest (or at least best bang/buck) C compiler for the 16 bit chips, either from Microchip or outside companies? I'm just looking for a good compiler/programmer and *maybe* a debugger setup.
