Comments, Advice, ETC - Power Supply Design

So, I'm doing a little digging for some power supply schematics and came up with this one.
Given the...reputation...of circuits pulled off Google, I thought it would be a good idea to get a little feedback on this picture. I've seen a lot of circuits scrutinized, and before I even think about doing anything with it, I would love to know beforehand if there were any errors or if there could be any helpful mods. Much thanks in advance!
 
looks fairly straightforward. your load should not exceed 1A, and you will need a heat sink on the regulator. the cap across the output (C5) isn't critical, and you could probably go as high as 1000uF.
