Coating Used to Prevent Arcing?

Is there is coating (Dipped/Chrome/Zinc/etc...) that can prevent arcing from dissimilar materials when making contact to complete a circuit? Think of an electrical tact switch type design except mechanical to the extent of no soldering.

No, but there are plenty of ways to prevent welding of contacts, oil immersion and using carbon contacts are two methods that spring to mind.
 
Hi,

You may not find a material for coating the contacts, but there are other ways to reduce arc over that can be as simple as a resistor and capacitor. It depends a lot one what you are using it for though.
