circuit board coating suggestions

I'm making a custom enclosure for a usb thumb drive and i decided I want to coat the chip, I was unaware there were so many types of coating and was hoping someone could suggest which might be best to use.

my only criteria for the coating is that it's clear (preferably un-tinted), and easy to apply.

any help would be great.

There are a dozen or more conformal coatings out there but for a simple quick and easy to apply coating for small jobs, I use clear nail polish which works fine and is readily available. It should do fine for you.

yea as soon as you said it that made perfect sense.

just to clarify, that should offer a little moisture resistance and electrical insulation right?
