Problem: The Foxconn plant that manufactures the iPhone doesn't have enough employees to finish the much-anticipated iPhone 5 on schedule. Solution: Get a few colleges to "suspend" classes for a couple of months and bus their students in for mandatory "internships" on the assembly line. Students in east China say they've been forced to work at the plant for the last month or more, six days a week, 12 hours a day, all for a paltry $243.97 a month, much of which was spent on their own food and lodging. Hope they earn a whole semester's worth of credits for their work — plus maybe a free iPhone.
