cc2500.... can any one help

friends:
m stuck in a project on wireless. please tell me how to process data in cc2500.
the problem is like: the module we r dsigning has to receive data from a transmitter. the data received is a 8 bit pattern. can cc2500 receive this 8 bit pattern and forward it to a microcontroller unit.

i m also fresher to CC2500..
i need to ask one thing.. do we need to program the cc2500 chip for rf application or we need to program our microcontroller only..
please help frnds as soon as possiblee
