Can't run MPLAB X in Windows 7.

I finally relented and switched from XP to Win7 on my main computer. All's well except MPLAB X won't run. There's no error, it shows the busy cursor for 4 seconds and then nothing. I'v tried the windows compatibility stuff, to no avail. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone any suggestions?

What version MPLABX I too reluctantly moved from XP but don't remember any problems....

Some times it's necessary to "Install" as Administrator as well as just "Run as" Administrator..

Managed to get it working. I re-installed but this time I installed XC8 at the same time as MPLABX. It might be just coincidence but if anyone else has this problem give it a try.
