Can we use 2 Zeners to bring down 58V ac to something like center tapped 30V ac?

I am thinking of using a clipper circuit and then rectify the clipped 30V using a diode bridge. Thanks

Welcome to the forum!
It may/not be practical with zeners. How much current will you be drawing from the bridge?

Or else could I divide up the 58V using 2 capacitors of 1500uF and then use the junction of the 2 caps as center tap or ground and feed the other 2 end to the bridge?

Something like
---------- ----------------- 29V
58V |
---- 1500uF
----
|----------------- To bridge
----- 1500uF
-----
|
---------------------------- 29V

The capacitor idea won't work since each capacitor would have to carry a half-sine wave of the DC current from the rectifiers, which would rapidly cause them to charge up.

Is the 7A load fixed or varying?

What is the source of the 58VAC

For a 7A load an SMPS looks like the best way forward; or a suitable transformer to drop the volts.
