Pico osd

Just a quick note,

I have personally built the PICO OSD, but it does not work well, the sync is all over the place, also the code does not compile in the newer MikroC compiler, however, you may have better results, it probably would work with a LM1881 sync seperator chip, but I dont know.

I have used the MAX7456 chip and the Decadent BOB4 OSD module, both are quite expensive, the BOB is around £70-£80 and the Maxim is around £25, for the MAXIM I would recommend the break out board from Sparkfun or the like. But both do exactly what they say, although for the price of the IC and module I would have expected it to do Colour overlay, but theres not much out there at the moment, I heard a rumor that Maxim are going to do a colour overlay chip, but dont know when or if it is even true.

I spent some time looking for a workable solution for this for a private project, but couldn't find any, so ended up getting some samples of the 7456 and using a SOIC to DIP adapter and using that instead!

If you have any other information on creating a overlay system using a PIC then please let me know! I have seen another solution from LS Electronics, which uses 2 PIC's and a MAX video multiplexor, i'm guessing it uses a resistor array to impose the correct voltage levels onto the video image.

Regards

Wilksey

sorry to say that my project deliverables are changed a little bit..
anyways if i'll find anytime i'll work on it and let you know.
thanks Wilksey..
