c program to acess gsm modem through serial port

Can you help me with some c or c++ code for accessing modem through serial port...to send msg through a gsm modem or to make a call through it.plz plz plz help me...

I have gone through some c code but can't understand some functions..plz help me with a tutorial on the functions likely to be used in the code..
