Has anyone ever heard of Bloodshed Dev C++ compiler?

Bloodshed Software - Providing Free Software to the internet community

I got the CD in the back of a C book and it seems to be a really nice program, and very user friendly.

Anyone proficient in C that might care to offer up an opinion?

Bloodshed Dev-C++ is only an IDE (the interface you see when you start up the program). The REAL C compiler behind it all is the all mighty GNU C compiler. Code::Blocks is another (much newer) IDE that also uses the GNU C compiler. Both of them use the MinGW package (a port of the GNU C compiler to windows). If you're using Linux, chanes are you already have the GNU C compiler installed (type gcc at the terminal).

What does this have to do with microcontrollers?
