Hey,
I have been using my ds1307 for a while(ish) now on a breadboard partialy designing interfaces. i have just noticed that i have not been using my rtc with a backup battery. i wanted to add one however when i used a 3v cr2032 it started always readin back as FF.
the batterys were cheap ones from What but i measured the voltage and it was 3v. my power supply is a 5v rail from an atx power supply which i modified for use as a bench supply. i measured that voltage and it was 5v.
is it a faulty chip or am i doing somthing wrong
