Looking to "pop the cherry" on wireless communication. Probably looking to reach 100ft or so and thinking RF would be best unless someone has a better thought. We are working with PICs and can obviously program the PIC to output what is needed but that is where we get lost.

All I want to do right now is send a basic signal through command of the PIC, and receive that signal via light or audio on a battery operated receiver. I think once we understand the process better, we can expand on it. Just not understanding the power requirements and components needed.
