Atmel / Microchip in Phoenix Landing

I wonder how much role did Atmel or Microchip play in the Phoenix Landing on Mars mission.

To take part even as some lowly custodial role like just simply sending on of billions of local board signals or battery voltage regulation would put either company in the history books.
 
If they didn't then who makes the components that can survive these types of conditions, surely there can't be that great of a market.
 
It's a far lower volume market but populated by people with far deeper pockets. All satellites deal with the radiation issue.
