hey there, i was wondering if there would be a way to make a lightbulb run off of a drill battery for eight or so hours, will there be enough juice? any ideas? warning- newbie

It depends on the power rating of the light bulb and the capacity of the drill battery?

LEDs might be a better bet.

That's the voltage not the capacity.

Battery capacity is given in AH (Ampere Hours).

How much light do you need?

It is likely to be about 3000 mA-hrs.

Draw no more then about 300 mA and should last eight hours.

Don't use a 'lightbulb' they're horribly ineffecient, used LED's or a CFL driver.
