I was given a 1990s Aiwa Z-R700 music system to have a look at because the tape deck was not working, cd player and tuner worked ok. I replaced the belts on the tape deck as they were all broken, Now the cd player, tuner and the tape deck do not work and the front lighting is all dim when the unit is switched on. I have checked connections and ribbon cables and there are no burnt or swollen capacitors on the main board. Maybe there are capacitors with low esr, bad diodes etc, I just don't know. Has anyone ever repaired one of these systems, I would be really grateful if someone could help please, give me some clues maybe, as I have never worked on one of these systems before. I know it is from the nineties but it is a nice unit. Thanks, Radio Man
