Ok heres a link I have built just the remote reciver for this project and I'd like to add a signal strength meter to it, I want the rx as part of a different project.

https://www.epemag3.com/lib/free_projects/lab_equipment/0602- Frequency Standard Generator.pdf

So far I took the o/p through a 47k resistor, then through a 1n4148, then a 100n to ground with a 1m accross the 100n, the voltage across the cap is buffered by a op amp to a moving coil meter.
It works but the dc from the o/p of the rx holds the meter half way accros with no signal, capacitively coupling the i/p kills the signal altogether.
The op amp is a lf358 and doesnt have bandwidth to amplify rf.

Aha I new I was missing something!

I'll try that when I get home.

I could put a jack on the back of the case with an audio on too.

Thanks Ron.
