Assume the car to parking bay closure speed is 3.6km/hr, thats 1m/sec [which is too fast IMO] also assume that the maximum range of the sensor is 1mtr.
For a constant closure speed of 1m/sec and say 25 distance samples/sec thats a new distance every 1/25 = 0.04mtrs = 4cm.
Of course if he keeps moving at this rate the car will overshoot the parking bay.
When the OP states autonomous parking, is that auto speed and position control when parking the car or just stop the car when the distance is less than 'X' cms from the bay end.????
