Adc ic

Hello,
I need fast A/D conversion IC, preferably, 8 bit with analog minimum and maximum reference. I have heard flash type ADC s are the fastest. I would love to know igf such kind of IC with my spec is available. My input varies from 2.5 to 5 V. Need DIP package

How "fast" is fast? 1ms, 1us, 1ns, 1ps, etc?
Parallel or serial interface?
