ADC display interference

Good day folks.

I'm working on a LED display using a ADC (ICL7107). The display seems somewhat irregular, and I'm thinking I might be getting interference from a nearby transformer. The transformer is about 8 inches away, and the transformer isn't sheilded by a metal casing.

Would it be possible that I'm picking up the field from the transformer in my ADC circuit?

Not inside the ADC chip itself. But inducing noise on the analog input or reference voltage will interfere with the chip's intended operation.
