Activewire-USB

Hi,

My name is Nick and I live in southern California. I am beginning a robotics project with an Apple IBook at my disposal. I just heard about an interface called the Activewire-USB and was wondering if anyone could give me any info on the capabilities of this device and if I could use it to monitor sensors.

Yes, you can use the ActiveWire device to monitor sensors. I am using two of them (32 bits) on a robot the automates a medical process right now. If the sensors that you are using will not operate at +5 you will need to use relays or optoislators to interface with the card (ideally optoisolators). I have not worked on any of the software; therefore, I cannot help you there, but I know that they'll work.
