I know you can use an accelerometer to measure the angle of gravity, but can you still accuratly measure where gravity is if you are accelerating?

Generally, no. It is problematic to measure this way. Acceleration Gs are indistinguishable from the acceleration of gravity. You know that 1G of the measurement is gravity but without knowing the direction of either the acceleration or gravity they cannot be separated.

I think the common solution is to use a combonation of acceleromater and a calibrated gyroscope.
