i build circuits using a pic 16f877, and isd 2560 (winbond) sound chip. the microcontroller controls lights ,motors and polls switches,,,,, i use one of the 8bit output ports to send an address # to the isd sound chip the hit the ce (chip enable) pin on the sound chip and it will play the selected sound file. i either want a much higher quality sound chip or an mp3 chip. it must be parallel addresable because i already have code written to do this. i know of some possible solutions using serial protocals like I2c or uart or spi. problem is i dont want to learn these uses of the pic ,,,it would take me months to do so, im a super slow learner! any ideas on a chip?
