a little help please-voltage regulator

how to actually determine which is input/output/base for voltage regulator(78L05)

if we see from the 3pins, the flat spot is facing up(sky) and the rounded on facing down(ground) , what is pin most left?middle?and most right?
or is there any other way to determine all those pins?
