8284 clock generator

can any one please explain me the function of following pins-
1.ASYNC
2.READY, RDY1, AEN
3.RES, RESET

oh it would be 8284A clock generator, used to generate clock for intel 8086 microprocessor.

Look at the attached datasheet for the 8284, all the pins are explained.

I cant understand why two buffer are used in clock generator. 82C84A clock generator were used two inverters to provide negative edege clock to reset D flipflop and second ready flipflop, (the schematic diagram of that is almost identical with 8284A except this).
