8051, Atmel, PIC, Motorola?

Ok, here's another burning question. I love to learn some more about embedded devices - will actually learning ALL of these 8051, Atmel, PIC and other brands of Microcontrollers usually help? Or will it look good on the resume? Any opinions on this? :)

Learning to program is tricky. When you can program proficiently in a language then you can program in any language. It is the techniques of programming that are hard to master.
