Hello all
I have some logic circuits that I am currently using 74xx138 type decoder chips on, but the outputs are in the wrong state for my needs. To use them, I am running the decoder outputs thru an inverting buffer to feed the circuits.
I have read in this forum that there is (or was) a decoder 74xx238 that gives high logic outputs that would be perfect, but I cannot find any of them on the market to buy. My goal is to reduce the total chip count and simplify the circuitry.
Question is, are/were these chips available and if so, where to buy in small quantities. If not available, can anyone recommend a suitable CMOS equivalent functional dip package that is at least as fast or fasther than the 138 that would work in a primarily TTL based circuit.
My circuitry has to total cycle length of around 200ns, but the decoder needs to be able to functionally decode the inputs ~ 20ns
Thanks
