2x16 LCD in 4 bit mode

I have used 2x16 displays with 8bits, but in some how it should be possible to write on the display with only 4 bits?? How??

You write the 8 bits in two 4 bit 'nibbles', it's explained in the datasheets.

Check my LCD PIC tutorials, I use 4 bit mode in those, plus hardware timing in one of them.
