I am working on a project to build a power supply. Please does anyone know the specifications for a 24V power supply? In terms of transformer ratings, spec for the diode, capacitor value and the spec for the regulator.

We need to know the current that the 24Vdc power supply is going to have to supply to the external load, before we can suggest the components required.

As Mr.Eric Gibbs said, it depends on the application you want your power supply to drive. However, a good range of maximum current can be (3A to 7A).

If I was you I would stay away from the hefty transformer design and go for an efficent switch mode design..
