    electronic brainiac's help needed!!!!!!!!!!

I remember a great scene from Christmas Vacation where Chevy Chase trashes the stereo of his obnoxious neighbor purely by accident: He was up on the roof attaching christmas lights when he slipped and fell. He grabbed the rain gutter to save himself, but by so doing yanked the thing down and...

    FC130A Frequency Counter

Right. I'm not talking service manual. It's just that Beckman always put the schematic in their user manuals. When Wavetek bought out their instrument division, this practice stopped, unfortunately. But Wavetek did keep the parts layout image, as you said. Any chance I could get a nice...

LM555 output frequency drops when supply voltage from the regulator

He did say: LM340T5. Which is why I was able to quote Vinmin from the datasheet in a previous post, and why I suggested his 6.8V input may not be enough to allow his part to regulate. (You must have missed that part of the discussion ;) )

    FC130A Frequency Counter

That's awesome. I have very poor copies of the manual, from both Beckman and Wavetek. Which one do you have? The manual by Beckman has the schematic, the Wavetek one does not. Specifically, I'm looking for a higher res image of the schematic and parts placement. Although ideally it would...

Help with electronics on a 40 cell H20 electrolizer rectified from 120v inverter

    I think Bill meant 10,000 kWh (or 10k kWh, one missing "k" :) )

Help with electronics on a 40 cell H20 electrolizer rectified from 120v inverter

Yeah, and that's at 100% efficiency to boot. 5kW generators (continuous) typically use 10HP engines. So a 5HP would do half that, or 2500W. Hilarious, all these grandiose schemes, and they can't get the basics right...

pH probe circuit - Possible problem with noise

Yeah, use the following. Go to pages 10-11 of the following datasheet. It's quite similar to the first circuit you posted, but this gives a little bit of help: **broken link removed**

LM555 output frequency drops when supply voltage from the regulator

What are you powering your circuit with when it works properly, i.e. number 1 above?

LM555 output frequency drops when supply voltage from the regulator

The datasheet specs a Vinmin of 7.5V. Your 6.8V may not be sufficient to allow your part to regulate properly...

    FC130A Frequency Counter

Howdy, Anyone out there have a Beckman/Wavetek FC130A Freq Counter? I'm looking for the manual...

Watts VS Volt-Amps, and Power Supply

Your ATX supply voltages are referenced to the ground leads in the output cables, not (necessarily) the case. The leads are often color coded, e.g. red=5V, yellow=12V, blk=GND, etc. Use your meter to double check, as you said. The 5V and 12V won't kill you. The currents are substantial...

    LM567 decoder

Says who? I found some the first place I looked: Jameco Electronics, $0.49ea in stock. Jameco Electronics ICs & Semiconductors: VARIOUS : LM567CN

Why the 741 is still being produced?

    Regarding old-timers like the 741, I've got plenty of: * 741BE (TO-99), date code 7345 * NE555V (mini-DIP) date code 7351 * NE555T (TO-99) date code 7346 Can anyone beat those date codes??

Why the 741 is still being produced?

Well now, that's just silly :) (My guess is that people may have actually used it in SOIC for a short time, and since then Digikey, and perhaps other resellers, still have 'em in stock and likely can hardly sell them.)
