Here is some more photos of what looks like the same board but laid out differently. This one doesn't have a resistor there. I see some other pictures where it is broken apart to fit on a special bracket. and the white things are replaced with just wire jumpers.

Very good point
Yea, that is definently a possibility but I dont really see any melted goo under/on it and size wise its looks like its the same sizer or bigger then the white components already.
I think the color labels are for the wire colors, not the components.
If you see gray you see the...
Reading 1k on it its possible the resistor is fine tbh. You may want to put in one a little beefier tho.
Its different shape then the white things, I dont think its the same. Looks like a normal resistor.
Maybe look for the components (Id guess relays or mosfets) that control the motors...
The reason for 2 senators is because of the deals made back in the day when the founding fathers first reformed our government trying to get the new constitution formed. Its really interesting to dig into what was going on back then, you will find its not that much different today honestly...
I doubt you need oscilloscope for this repair. More likely you just need to open it and check the connection for the screen.
Using a scope on the external supply will just be a waist of time unless the entire unit is cutting on and off and not just suffering a flickering display. These are...
I added a picture to my original post, Sorry for all the edits, I didn't look at it originally and assumed it was like most other fobs I deal with. I later looked closer and realized this one is an oddball.
After looking at it closer:
In picture of PCB:
You have the red + and black - reversed. Bit of a weird design to be honest. I wonder if one battery is for PROX functions and the other for keyless entry functions. The picture of the shell with the red + you have is wrong as well, that is B-...
Usually the logic in ecu's for relay controls are monitored to see if its low when it should be high (shorted) or if its high when it should be low (open) and throw a code based on that.
I have seen some logics dislike certain relays as well so maybe the system is monitoring more then just...
I use it for some things. It has its uses but it likes to make things up often so you still need to be pretty familiar with what your doing with the bot or its just going to lead you down the wrong path.
That is not the right stencil for this device. I'm not sure what that tiny stencil even goes to. Probably meant to be used by hand with solder paste, but that's a rather big chip to try and use paste with.
For the device you have, you need the large stencils (90x90mm) that fill the whole...
You may want to look into a "Passtime Device". Its a popular device used by car dealers I make keys for where they can disable the starting of financed cars when people do not make the payments. It also has a GPS that can be used but its not required to be hooked up to use the start disable. I...
