going to look at the ws212 thanks

using a RTC in SF basic

My Christmas ornament has a 530 ohm resistor per LED As for the clock, I watched the videos that Beau posted and can't figure out WHAT TIME IS IT? I like the idea of a blinking LED for each minute

using a RTC in SF basic

thanks will give it a try. I built a test board that has 6- 74hc595s on it. rethinking both of these projects I still want to build the snowflake but the dang tariffs are standing in the way dam Trumpnokio

    Simple LED Analog Clock Idea

Curious would a single resistor save 7 resistors?

    Simple LED Analog Clock Idea

yes I realize the 4017 is a bad idea. I like the 74hc595 idea wonder how expensive if I have boards made but shipped to the UK THEN HAVE THE PERSON IN THE UK ship me the boards Thinking how to get around the stupid tariffs that Trumpinokio put up. Sorry if I bogged down your thread

    Simple LED Analog Clock Idea

I see I am not th only one who thought about using the 4017 counter.

    Simple LED Analog Clock Idea

this thread got me to thinking of building a clock on a perf-board BUT using 60 green LEDs for minutes

    Simple LED Analog Clock Idea

Nice looking clock, why through hole resistors? I found ordering boards very expensive thanks to the tariffs

PERTAINING TO POST #378 if you can't read the clock face than turn on the light. then you won't stub your toe in the dark.

AM STILL TRYING TO COMPREND post#381 Then what Beau posted about multiple LEDs on at one time post 362

using a RTC in SF basic

I think I get your idea? 12 LEDs for hours, 60 LEDs for minutes and have the LED under the hour flashing. say it's 3:18 so have the led below the 3 flashing while the LEDs indicating minutes continue on? hopefully I understand this correctly

using a RTC in SF basic

Aha I now get your point on only two LEDs. Reading over post #221 and #222 I am a little confused about 2- hour LEDs and 12 LEDs for each minute?

yes worried about the tariffs. I have 2 additional bards am going to have made and try and save on shipping

using a RTC in SF basic

I recall charlieplexing was mentioned a long time ago and it wasn't recall effective and complex. As for my latest design, I have a maximum of 2 LDEs at one time enabled. If you watch https://www.electro-tech-online.com/members/266431/ you will see more than 2 LEDs are enabled at one time. Yes...

using a RTC in SF basic

The only two LEDs at same time would be an hour LED and a minute LED. I think it was Jon's idea to use the 74hc595's. As for the transistors, I didn't (make sure) about a floating input port pin. schematic shows 2 - 18F processors as I want to check today on my supply of 18f2221 chips (have lots...
