    Audio microphone multicore

Hey, i want to get a multicore coz its too expensive to buy, so does anyone know what kind of wire? is it just heaps of standard 2 core shielded wire inside one fat insulation? anyone have any good ideas for the outer insulation coz 30meters of heatshrink will also cost a lot!! Thanks Josh.

    video amplifier

Hey, should i substitute the video op amp with one that operates on the same voltage? coz i found a national one that runs on +/- 5V. Also, how hard is it to make this powered off a single DC supply? Thanks. Josh.

    video amplifier

in the schematic i put on, there are 3 outputs, which are just 3 75 ohm resistors in parallel. does this mean i can put as many or little of these as i want? also if i build it with 3 outputs and only use 2, will that stuff everything up?

    Power supply amp rating.

Hi. the voltage of your 200mA supply (assuming its unregulated, which most of them are) will be 9V when 200mA is drawn, so if less is drawn the voltage will be higher. With your 600mA one, the same applies. because you are drawing less than 600mA, the voltage will be higher than 9V. As a rule...

    video amplifier

i have just done some research and found that the IC no longer exists. can anyone tell me which common IC could be used in it's place? Thanks Josh.

    video amplifier

I found this schematic. Do you think it will work? it looks relatively easy to make. Basically i want to make a splitter that i can put inside my (cheap) video mixer to give me a 'monitor' outputs for each input.

    video amplifier

Thanks, yeah i was talking about AV composite out. is there a splitter IC or something? Josh.

    video amplifier

Hi. Whats the deal with video signal. i want to run 2 tvs off one signal. I've tried just wiring my VCRs output to both TVs inputs, but there is a loss of quality and stuff. Is what i'm looking for a masthead amplifier? are these easy to make? can i just use an audio amplifier? Thanks, all...

    ATX Power supply

Thanks fellas. Yeah i did need the +12V output. computer power supplies are ideal coz of the high current (like 15 Amps!). ive tried it out and the 5V output sits a bit high and the 12V output is a bit low until you load down the 5V. Then it worked perfectly and the 12V rail was regulated...

    ATX Power supply

HI. if i want to use an ATX computer power supply to power an amplifier i made, is there a way i can connect it up so that i can have just an on/off switch to turn the power supply on and off? I dont know how ATX supplys work because they switch off when the motherboard tells it to or...

    speaker voltage

what's the story about speaker and amplifier voltage? can a speaker have any voltage put across it? coz ive heard that mains power amps have something like a 100V line, then you've got 12V systems, and even like 40V systems, but do you have to have speakers to suit? coz i've tried a house...

    USB audio

hi. i have a laptop with pretty good speakers, well... for treble. anyway i reckon it would be pretty good if it was just how it is plus a sub. so i've bought a sub at a garage sale, but i cant plug it into the headphone socket coz it cuts out the laptop speakers. so my idea is to have a USB...

    buy amplifier

i want to buy an amplifier module to make some speakers active speakers. i found one but i live in australia and it needs to run on 240V ac, this one didn't. it needs to be at least 120W RMS at 8 ohms. if anyone knows a website please tell me even if they don't have the specs ive asked for...

    fog machine

how do smoke machines work? does it just heat up fog juice or boil it or what?!!?! thanks. i'm trying to make one. Josh.
